As we ventured off on our family road trip, I couldn't help but feel sad to leave Coos Bay. I really love it here! I wasn't too excited about going to the desert and the 100 degree plus weather. But, I was really thrilled about visiting with family that we hadn't seen in so long. Our first stop was Reno, NV. Chad got us a really good deal on a hotel there. We enjoyed a fabulous buffet dinner with endless choices for dinner and dessert. :) The following day, we made it to St. George to visit my Grandpa Bair. The kids were excited to see their Great-Grandpa. He looked great!! He is celebrating his 99th birthday this month! Happy Birthday Grandpa Clarence! It was so great to see you! We also stopped by the St. George Temple, which I believe, has to be one of the most beautiful temples there is. It was blazing hot there, so we didn't stay too long. Next, we were happy to visit with Chad's Uncle and Aunt in Mesquite, NV. It was so nice to see them. I think they were happy to see us too. Uncle Bill is really struggling with his health right now, so we were hoping that our visit cheered him up! The kids really enjoyed spending a few hours with them. The next day, we headed to my Mom and Randy's house in Lake Havasu. It was so good to be there with both of them. We almost melted completely though :) The kids had a wonderful time in the pool and with the two dogs (Randy and Jodi's dogs who live next door). So much fun!! My mom looks great and is recovering well after her open-heart surgery. Randy is taking good care of her! She is doing great! After a few days, we were off to Surprise, AZ to visit with Chad's family. It was so wonderful to see everyone there. Chad's Mom and Dad, Chad's brother Clint and his wife Tracy, and we finally got to meet Ethan! What a great time we all had getting to know him. He is quite a character! :) We had a fabulous time together. I wished we could have stayed longer! During that week, I took the kids and met my niece and nephew, McKynzie and Elyzabeth, for dinner near their home in Buckeye. They are growing so fast and of course are cuter than ever (is that ok to say to teenagers? Probably not). It was great catching up with them and spending a little while together. When the week was over, we headed back to Lake Havasu for one last visit with my Mom and Randy. All in all, we had a great trip! Thanks to everyone for the memories!
